Իտալական VST աստղադիտակը բացահայտել է լոկալ տիեզերքի 5 գալակտիկաների գաղտնիքները
ՀԱՆՐԱՀԱՅՏ ՄՈԼՈՐՈՒԹՅՈՒՆՆԵՐՍեղմեք ԱՅՍՏԵՂ, լրացրեք օնլայն հայտը և մոռացեք հոսանքի վարձի մասին
Աստղաֆիզիկայի ազգային ինստիտուտը ներկայացրել է լոկալ տիեզերքի հինգ գալակտիկաների մանրամասն պատկերներ, որոնք ստացվել են Չիլիում տեղակայված իտալական VST (VLT Survey Telescope) աստղադիտակի միջոցով: Այս գալակտիկաները, ներառյալ անկանոն NGC 3109-ը և Sextans A-ն, պարուրաձև գալակտիկաներ Մեսյե 83-ը (կամ NGC 5236) և IC 5332-ը և անկանոն NGC 5253-ը գտնվում են Ծիր Կաթին գալակտիկայից 4-ից 30 միլիոն լուսատարի հեռավորության վրա:
Պատկերները ստացվել են VST-SMASH (VST Survey of Mass Assembly and Structural Hierarchy) ուսումնասիրության շրջանակում, որը ղեկավարել է Նեապոլի Աստղաֆիզիկայի ազգային ինստիտուտի հետազոտող Կրեշենցո Տորտորան: Նախագծի նպատակն է հասկանալ տարբեր տեսակի գալակտիկաների առաջացման մեխանիզմները։ Դիտարկումներն իրականացվել են երեք ֆիլտրերի միջոցով, որոնք թույլ են տվել ֆիքսել գալակտիկաներում աստղերի ձևի, գույնի և բաշխվածության ամենափոքր մանրամասները։
Հինգ գալակտիկաներն ընտրված են 27 գալակտիկաներից, որոնք թիմն ուսումնասիրում է VST-ով: Այս գալակտիկաները խնամքով ընտրվել են՝ ապահովելու ավելի մանրամասն օպտիկական անալոգն այն տվյալների, որոնք առաջիկա տարիներին կհավաքի Եվրոպական տիեզերական գործակալության (ESA) Euclid տիեզերական աստղադիտակը։
Հետազոտության արդյունքները հրապարակվել են The Messenger ամսագրում։ «Մենք փորձում ենք հասկանալ, թե ինչպես են գոյանում գալակտիկաները՝ կախված դրանց զանգվածից և մորֆոլոգիական տեսակից: Սա նշանակում է, որ մենք պետք է ուսումնասիրենք աստղերի ձևավորման գործընթացները գալակտիկաների ներսում (in situ) և միաձուլման գործընթացները այլ գալակտիկաների հետ»,- բացատրել է Կրեշենցո Տորտորան։
VST-ի դիտարկումները թիմին թույլ են տվել հետազոտել գալակտիկաները մինչև մակերեսի շատ ցածր պայծառությունը, ինչը դժվար կլիներ անել ընդամենը մի քանի տարի առաջ: VST աստղադիտակն իր մեծ տեսադաշտով առանցքային դեր է խաղացել համեմատաբար կարճ ժամանակում այս պատկերները ստանալու հարցում։ Համեմատության համար, Hubble տիեզերական աստղադիտակի միջոցով նմանատիպ պատկերներ ստեղծելը կպահանջի բազմաթիվ հաջորդական էքսպոզիցիաներ։
«Սա առաջին անգամն է, որ այս բոլոր գալակտիկաները դիտարկվել են նման խորությամբ և մանրամասնությամբ և միատեսակ տվյալներով»,- ասել է Տորտորան՝ հավելելով, որ առաջիկա տարիներին միայն Euclid տիեզերական աստղադիտակը կկարողանա այսպիսի խորությամբ ուսումնասիրություններ անել, բայց այն չի կարողանա հույս դնել լայնածավալ ծածկույթի վրա VST օպտիկական երկարությունների վրա:
Վերա Ռուբինի անվան աստղադիտարանը, թեև դիտարկումներ անում է նմանատիպ սպեկտրային շրջաններում, նման խորությունների կհասնի միայն երկար տարիների դիտարկումից հետո՝ VST-ն դարձնելով գործիք, որը դեռ կարող է հետաքրքիր արդյունքներ տալ ուսումնասիրության համար:
