«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.

Գերմանական չափանիշներով Բիտբուրգյան գարեջուրը բավականին երիտասարդ է։ Գարեջրի գործարանը, որն արտադրում է գարեջուր Bitburger ապրանքանիշի ներքո, հայտնվել է «միայն» 1817 թվականին: Գարեջրի գործարանի հիմնադիրը Յոհան Վալենբորգն էր, որը բացել էր իր սեփական փոքրիկ բիզնեսը Բիտբուրգ քաղաքում: Նրա գարեջրի գործարանը եփում էր ֆերմենտացված գարեջուր և առանձնապես շահութաբեր չէր: Կաղնե տակառներում պահվող ըմպելիքը մատակարարվում էր միայն շրջակա փաբերին, և ոչ մի տեղ, բացի Բիտբուրգից (որն այն ժամանակ ուներ մոտ 3000 բնակիչ), չգիտեին դրա գոյության մասին։ Յոհանի մահից հետո նրա այրին էր մի քանի տարի վարում ընտանեկան բիզնեսը։

1842 թվականին Յոհանի դուստրը՝ Էլիզաբեթն, ամուսնացել է Լյուդվիգ Սայմոնի հետ, որն էլ սկսել է ղեկավարել գարեջրի գործարանը։ Պետք է ասել, որ նրա օրոք գարեջրի գործարանը նույնպես քիչ էր հայտնի և մեծ շահույթ չէր բերում։ Սայմոնի գարեջրի գործարանի ոսկե դարը սկսվել է 1871 թվականին, երբ այն ժառանգել է որդին՝ Թեոբալդ Սայմոնը։ Պարզվել է, որ այդ քսանչորսամյա երիտասարդը շատ տաղանդավոր գործարար է։ Նրա օրոք գարեջրի գործարանը սկսել է արագ զարգանալ։ Չնայած իր բավականին երիտասարդ տարիքին, Թեոբալդն արդեն այցելել էր Եվրոպայի շատ քաղաքներ և հանգել այն եզրակացությանը, որ ապագան ոչ թե մուգ գարեջրինը, այլ լագերինն է։ Բիտբուրգյան գարեջուրը սկսել է տարածվել տարածաշրջանից դուրս այն բանից հետո, երբ 1883 թվականին գարեջրի գործարանը սկսել է գարեջուր պատրաստել չեխական pilsner բաղադրատոմսով:

Միաժամանակ սկսվել են արտահանման առաջին մատակարարումները Լյուքսեմբուրգ։ Սկզբում հիմնական խնդիրն ամբողջ Գերմանիայում, ինչպես նաև նրա սահմաններից դուրս գարեջուր տարածելու ճանապարհին այն էր, որ այդ «կենդանի» ըմպելիքը հաճախ փչանում էր մինչև վաճառքի կետեր հասնելը, քանի որ բոլոր առաքումները կատարվում էին սայլերով: Խնդիրը մասամբ լուծվել է 1896 թվականին, երբ ձեռնարկությունում տեղադրվել են սառնարանային սարքավորումներ։ Գարեջրի առաքման խնդիրն ամբողջությամբ լուծվել է 1909 թվականին, երբ Բիտբուրգում հայտնվել է երկաթուղին։ Դրանից հետո Բիտբուրգյան գարեջուրը սկսել է ժողովրդականություն ձեռք բերել ամբողջ Գերմանիայում: Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմը ոչ մի բացասական ազդեցություն չի թողել ընկերության վրա։ Ավելին, արտադրության ծավալներն աճել են և պատերազմի ավարտին կազմել տարեկան 4 մլն լիտր։

Ձեռնարկությունը հաջողությամբ զարգացել է մինչև 1944 թվականը, երբ առաջին ռումբերն են սկսել ընկնել Բիտբուրգի վրա։ Տարեվերջին քաղաքից և գարեջրի գործարանից միայն ավերակներ են մնացել։ Սակայն 1946 թվականի սկզբին գարեջրի գործարանը սկսել է վերականգնվել, և 10 տարի անց ընկերությունն արդեն վերականգնել է իր նախկին դիրքը գարեջրի շուկայում։ Այսօր Bitburger-ը Գերմանիայում գարեջրի վաճառքի առումով երրորդն է իր մեծությամբ: Եվ ամենահետաքրքիրն այն է, որ այն, չհամաձայնելով խոշոր կոնցեռններին միացման առաջարկներին, շարունակում է մնալ որպես ընտանեկան բիզնես: Ներկայումս Bitburger գարեջրի գործարանը ղեկավարում է Սայմոն ընտանիքի յոթերորդ սերունդը:
