Նոյեմբերի 10-ը Հանուն խաղաղության եւ զարգացման գիտության համաշխարհային օրն է

Հանուն խաղաղության եւ զարգացման գիտության համաշխարհային օրը (World Science Day for Peace and Development) կամ Գիտության համաշխարհային օրը (World Science Day) ամեն տարի նշվում է նոյեմբերի 10-ին եւ նպատակ ունի աշխարհում բարձրացնել գիտության օգտակարության գիտակցությունը, ինչպես նաեւ միջազգային հանրությանը հիշեցնել հանուն խաղաղության եւ զարգացման գիտատեխնիկական ձեռքբերումների օգտագործման անհրաժեշտության մասին՝ ի բարօրություն մարդկային քաղաքակրթության, գրում է Calend.ru-ն։
Օրվա նպատակներից է նաեւ հանուն խաղաղության եւ զարգացման ազգային ու միջազգային պարտավորությունների թարմացումը եւ գիտության պատասխանատու օգտագործումը՝ հանրության բարօրության, գիտության կարեւորության մասին տեղեկացվածության մակարդակի բարձրացման եւ գիտության ու հանրության միջեւ անջրպետը վերացնելու համար։
Թեեւ այս օրը ոչ աշխատանքային չէ, շատ երկրներում անցկացվում են միջոցառումներ։ Հանուն խաղաղության եւ զարգացման գիտության համաշխարհային օրվա անցկացման որոշումը ընդունվել է 1999թ․՝ Բուդապեշտում անցկացված Գիտական համաշխարհային համաժողովի (World Conference on Science) ժամանակ, երբ խոսվեց գիտության եւ հանրության ավելի սերտ փոխգործակցության մասին։
Հետեւելով այդ համաժողովին՝ ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ-ն պաշտոնապես ճանաչել է Գիտության համաշխարհային օրը եւ հայտարարել է այդ մասին 2001թ․ համաժողովում։ Օրն առաջին անգամ նշվել է 2002թ․ նոյեմբերի 10-ին եւ այդ ժամանակվանից լայնորեն նշվում է ողջ աշխարհում։
