Ժողովուրդը 2018-ին նույն Սերժ Սարգսյանին ընտրել էր: Այս մասին, այսօր՝ նոյեմբերի 15-ին, լրագրողների հետ զրույցում նշեց ՀՅԴ բյուրոյի անդամ Արմեն Ռուստամյանը, պատասխանելով հարցին, թե եթե ՀՅԴ-ն դեմ էր իշխանության մեջ առկա հոռի երեւույթներին, վարվող քաղաքականությանը, ինչու 2018-ին կողմ քվեարկեց Սերժ Սարգյանի թեկնածությանը ԱԺ-ում:
«Եթե ժողովուրդն իրեն ընտրում է, տալիս է հարյուր հազարներով ձայն, հետո ասում է կաշառքով եմ ընտրել, ես ի՞նչ անեմ: Ես հաշվի եմ նստում ժողովրդի ընտրության հետ: Երբ ժողովուրդը կանգնեց Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի կողքը, մենք նրա հետ էինք»,-ասաց Ռուստամյանը:
Հարցին, թե նախկինները, որ այսօր բողոքում են ստեղծված իրավիճակից, ի վիճակի՞ են լուծել երկրի առջեւ ծառացած խնդիրները՝ հաշվի առնելով, որ 15-20 տարի ժամանակ են ունեցել ու այդ ուղղությամբ ոչինչ չեն արել, ՀՅԴ Բյուրոյի անդամն արձագանքեց. «Իսկ ո՞վ ասաց, որ ոչինչ չեն արել: Իհարկե կարող են լուծել, որովհետեւ այդ մարդիկ կարող մարդիկ են, ռեժիմն է իրենց դրել այդ վիճակի մեջ: Եթե դու համակարգը փոխում ես, որ մարդիկ իրենց գիտելիքն ու կարողությունը ներդնեն ի շահ երկրի, ապա այդ ուժերը պետք է օգտագործես: Այս սեղանի շուրջ նաեւ մարդիկ են, որոնք Արցախի ու Հայաստանի տարածքները դարձրել են 42 հազար քառակուսի կիլոմետր: Էս նորեկնե՞րն են դա արել»:
