Glas.ru-ն գրում է, որ կալիֆորնիական Ռիվերսայդի համալսարանի քիմիկոսներն առաջարկել են նոր չափազանց բարակ նյութ, որը կարող է կրկնապատկել արևային մարտկոցների արդյունավետությունը:

Նյութը կազմված է ընդամենը մեկ ատոմի հաստությամբ գրաֆեն կոչվող երկչափ ածխածնի թիթեղներից: Հետազոտողները պարզել են, որ արեգակնային մարտկոցի մակերեսին գրաֆենի շերտ ավելացնելով հնարավոր է ավելացնել բջջի կողմից կլանվող լույսի քանակը։ Դա պայմանավորված է նրանով, որ գրաֆենը կարողանում է գրավել լույսը և ուղղել այն դեպի բջջի ակտիվ շերտ, որտեղ այն կարող է վերածվել էլեկտրականության։

Թիմը նաև պարզել է, որ գրաֆենի շերտը կարողացել է նվազեցնել փոխակերպման գործընթացում ջերմությամբ կորցրած էներգիայի քանակը: Դա պայմանավորված է նրանով, որ գրաֆենը ջերմության հիանալի հաղորդիչ է, ինչը նշանակում է, որ այն կարող է ավելի արդյունավետ կերպով ցրել բջջի կողմից առաջացած ջերմությունը:

Առաջարկվող նյութը արևային բջիջները դարձնելով ավելի արդյունավետ և ծախսարդյունավետ կարող է հեղափոխել արևային արդյունաբերությունը: Հետազոտողները, որոնց հոդվածը հրապարակվել է Life Technologies հրատարակությունում, կարծում են, որ իրենց բացահայտումները կարող են հանգեցնել նոր տեսակի արևային բջիջների զարգացմանը, որոնք ավելի բարակ, թեթև և ճկուն կլինեն, քան գոյություն ունեցող մնացած մոդելները:
